web 2.0

having access to the Internet does not make anyone more talented.
having access to the Internet does not make anyone less talented.
it makes people lazier, sure.
it can make people feel more knowledgeable - rightly or wrongly.

everyone a critic? sure.

as you were then.

  1. Hey Everett,

Is your blog named after Ed Keupper's best solo album?

  2. Thought i'd leave a quiet message here on the offchance you'd find it eventually amidst all the music blog and twitter comments and wordpress feeds and god-knows-what-else is linked to your blogs.

I used to read Melody Maker. Avidly. And you, Mr True were my totally favest music journalist of all time, and even if i were to never read any of your writing again, you would still be inspiring me until i'm a doddering old man with the memory of a goldfish.

For your Galaxie 500 reviews, heartfelt love of Daniel johnston (who my friends all hate, the bastards!) and a carefully folded in a cd case, a cutting of your review of Mark Eitzel's: Songs of Love album and a million other things sitting in in a pile of MM's in my bedroom like artifacts from Egyptian tombs.... especially the issue where i laughed like a drain, upon finding you had written nearly every single article...

I wanted to tell you this for years, and so there you are. I find you at last. I can tell you!- Thanks!!! You opened my heart to music and it's never recovered. Yaay!

    Hope you're still having fun.

    S.
